Vahid Asghari was transferred to Solitary Confinement, banned of visiting and began hunger strike

HRANA News Agency – Vahid Asghari, Iranian imprisoned blogger in Ward 350 of Evin prison began hunger strike due to he was transferred to Solitary Confinement in Ward 240 and banned of visiting for three weeks by judge Salavati.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Vahid Asghari refused to defend himself and said he would not appeal the sentence, because he considered the court of first instance to be illegal and he must be in Handcuffs and shackles to be transferred to the court. So, his judge, Abolghasem Salavati at branch 15th of Tehran's revolutionary court, issued 10 days in solitary confinement and three weeks ban of visiting for him. He said he will begin hunger strike in protest, while he was being transferred to solitary confinement.

Vahid Asghari is an Iranian blogger and an information technology student who was sentenced to death by the Islamic Republic's government in 2012.

Studying in India, Asghari was arrested in 2008 at Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport and hold in custody since. He was sentenced by Abdolqassem Salavati, president of the 15th chamber of the Revolutionary court for allegedly hosting a pornography network.

Asghari has also been accused of spying in collaboration with blogger Hossein Derakshan, and wrote that he was forced under torture to state that Hossein was an agent of the CIA.

"Iranian courts confirmed death sentences for bloggers Saeed Malekpour and Vahid Asghari, both of whom were not accorded due process and now face imminent execution on charges of 'spreading corruption.'"

Malekpour was imprisoned in October 2008 and confessed on Iranian TV that he developed and promoted porn websites.
