Escalating student protests across different Iranian major cities

Tehran Science and Industry University:One thousand students of Tehran’s Science & Industry University rallied chanting “Students ready to die, won’t give in to disgrace” and demanding the tight security restrictions imposed on the campus be lifted. The students in this demo raised pictures of Kianush Asa and Fateme Bagheri, two colleagues killed by the regime in the 2009 nationwide protests. The protesters went on to chant, “Cultural deputy must be fired” and “Political prisoners must be freed”.

Shiraz Industrial University:Students of this university held a large gathering demanding the release of imprisoned students. They also pressed for the resignation of the university dean by the name of ‘Jam’.

Tehran University: Students of Tehran Art University staged a protest rally for the fourth consecutive week. This gathering was held in one of the schools of this university located in Tehran’s major Vali-Asr Intersection. Students of various other branches of this university also participated in this gathering, protesting the inadequate campus conditions and demanding the university dean to be fired.
