Austrian Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee members held a session behind closed doors holding the mullahs’ foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif accountable for increasing executions, especially the execution of political prisoners. According to Reuters Zarif had claimed there are no political prisoners in Iran.
The UN has recently reported that in 2013 alone between 500 to 625 people have been executed in Iran, and 40 people just in the first 15 days of January 2014. This organization emphasized political prisoner and ethnic minorities were among those executed.
