Iran: Pastor among prisoners injured during raid on Evin prison

A Christian in Ward 350 of Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison was among prisoners transferred to hospital on Sunday April 20 after a beating by members of the Iranian regime Revolutionary Guards (IRGC). Pastor Farshid Fathi’s cellmates confirmed the beating by IRGC.
According to report by Mohabat News hospital doctors found Fathi’s toe was fractured. Doctors put his foot in a cast, and said he will probably need surgery in a few weeks.
On April 17, A large number of the clerical regime’s suppressive forces raided the ward 350 of notorious Evin Prison, savagely beating up and insulting the prisoners. The excuse for the raid was inspecting the ward.
Ward 350 is the ward of political prisoners in Evin Prison, including those who are imprisoned on the charges of affiliation with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). The Amnesty International condemned the raid in a call for Urgent Action on April 17.
The assailants were in particularly focused on prisoners who are charged with being affiliated to thePMOI/MEK and beat them up more severely, and wounded a number of them. 
The henchmen in Evin have transferred a number of political prisoners to solitary cells despite their injuries and their need for medical treatment and there is no news on their conditions.
A group of relatives of political prisoners gathered on Tuesday outside the office of Hassan Rouhani, the Iranian regime’s President, to protest the attack.
A group of residents of Tehran joined their protest to express of their solidarity with members of families of attacked political prisoners.
The protesters in Tehran chanted “Free Political Prisoners.” They also carried signs that read: “We have seen with our own eyes, the (attack) was not lie it was a tragedy.”
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance praised the resistance and steadfastness of political prisoners in face of despicable religious dictatorship ruling Iran. She also praised the perseverance of their families in echoing the voices of political prisoners.
The President-elect of the Iranian Resistance once again reiterated on the need for an independent international investigation regarding the savage attack on Evin Prison by the regime’s Guards(IRGC), intelligence, and security agents as well as the regime’s crimes in other prisons.
