There is no information on the whereabouts of 29 political prisoners transferred from ward 350 in Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison. Following the authorities’ vicious raid into this ward on Thursday, April 17th, prison authorities transferred 31 inmates to another location. Two of them of the names of Ismaeel Bozorgi and Omid Behrouzi are held enchained to their beds in Evin’s clinic. However, there is no information on the whereabouts of the other 29 inmates.
An Evin Prison guard has told the inmates of ward 350, “These 29 inmates were transferred to Rajaei Shahr Prison in Karaj (west of Tehran) and are currently held in solitary confinement.”
On the other hand, some of the inmates of ward 350 have reported these 29 inmates launching a hunger strike in solitary confinement, adding they have refused to accept any food and this will continue until they are transferred out of solitary confinement.
Also, the political prisoners of Evin’s ward 350 refused to receive their prison rations on Thursday and Friday, April 17th and 18th, protesting the beating of their fellow inmates.
