Cantor: War against Syrian people is being waged by Assad, Iranian regime and Hezbollah

U.S. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor said in a statement on Thursday the 'war being waged against the Syrian people not just by the Assad regime, but by Iranian operatives and Hizballah terrorists with a steady supply of Russian weapons.'
"What is taking place in Syria is not merely a horrifying humanitarian crisis, but a geostrategic catastrophe that threatens the stability of the entire region. I have long believed the Assad regime with its ties to Iranian terrorists and extremists poses significant threats to the United States," said Cantor in statement published after the meeting with President of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, Ahmad Jarba, and Syrian opposition leaders.
“I was pleased to welcome Syrian Coalition President Ahmad Jarba to the U.S. Capitol today, along with a senior delegation of Syrians dedicated to establishing a moderate, pluralistic, and democratic Syria. I appreciate their commitment to a Syria that is firmly allied against terrorism. Our sympathies are with the Syrian people as they
“It was helpful to hear President Jarba’s thoughts on the current situation in Syria, the humanitarian plight faced by the Syrian people, and the steps that must be taken to end the brutal reign of Bashar Assad, confront Iran’s malign influence, and combat the threat posed by extremist terrorists. I thank President Jarba and his delegation for their visit and insight on how we might secure a peaceful, negotiated solution to this terrible conflict.”.
