Iranian regime's military aid to Syria is part of 'war on US', IRGC commanders says

The Iranian regime considers its military support for the Syrian dictatorship to be part of its 'war against America', a senior Revolutionary Guards commanders has declared.
Colonel Mohammad Eskandari, an IRGC commander in city of Malayer, said: "IRGC commanders have prepared and equipped 42 divisions and 138 battalions in Syria, and are fully prepared militarily to fight the enemy.
"Today’s war in Syria is really our war with US."
Hamedan Province Deputy IRGC Commander Mazaher Majdi added: "Iran’s front line is in Syria and Lebanon, and this is a religious duty for us.
"If we do not defend them today, the enemy’s trench will be beside our border."
And IRGC Major General Hossein Hamedani said: "Today 130,000 trained Basij forces are waiting to enter Syria.
"Today we fight in Syria for the interests of the Islamic Revolution. Our defense in Syria is part of the Sacred Defense." (The term used by the regime officials to refer to the Iran-Iraq war of 1980's).
And Hamadani said of the presence of Iran's paramilitary Basij force in Syria: "This force is present in 14 Syrian provinces. In these occupied provinces these forces have been organized in cells and they have conducted operations against the armed forces of the opposition.
"In the past three years, 70 per cent of Syria had been in the hands of the armed forces, but fortunately, right now 75 per cent of Syrian territory has been cleansed and the threat of the toppling of the Syrian regime has been removed," he said, according to a May 4 report by the Tasnim News Agency, affiliated to the terrorist Qods Force.
The comments by all three IRGC commanders are a rare admission of Iran's military aid to Syrian dictator Basher al-Assad.
Iran's ruling mullahs, who fear the imminent collapse of their rule, have been emboldened in their foreign warmongering by the indifference of the US and the international community to the atrocities they commit in Syria Iraq and neighbouring countries.
