Report on various May Day protests in Iran

                   Shushtar Paper Factory workers’ protest rally

Iran: Shushtar 

Expelled workers of the Shushtar Paper Company on May Day staged rallies outside the factory, protesting their expulsion from work in this factory.

Ahvaz - According to reports received from the southwest Iranian city of Ahvaz around 200 workers of the city’s pipe factory held placards and marched towards the regime’s governor office.

Saveh – Workers of the Saveh Paper Factory rallied outside the governor office.
Tehran – Marking May Day many store owners of the Lalezar bazaar in Tehran protested increasing taxes, closing their stores as a result.

Tehran – According to reports workers rallying outside the regime’s Ministry of Labor said they saw a scene where at least 1,000 workers were rallying at the site.

Khoram Abad – Workers rallying in Khoram Abad held a rally and raised placards protesting their poverty and their families going hungry. Protesters reported there was a high security presence and state agents would not allow anyone take any pictures or video footages.

Baluchestan – Workers rallied on this day honoring the laborers who protested outside the regime’s governor office in the town of Sarbaz.
