Mr Mashallah (Hamid) Haeri
NCRI - A critically ill political prisoner entered coma again on Monday (June 2) after his conditions severely deteriorated due to being deprived of receiving the urgently needed medical attention.
Mr Mashallah (Hamid) Haeri, 63, who has been suffering from various illnesses, has been subjected to psychological and physical torture including denial of receiving medical care for his support for the Iranian opposition movement, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).
The repressive authorities at Gohardasht prison in city of Karaj were forced to transfer Mr Haeeri to a hospital outside the prison after sever bleeding of his nose and ear.
Despite his critical condition, the henchmen transferred him to hospital with hands and feet in shackles.
His conditions deteriorated as his hand and foot were chained to the hospital bed.He entered state of coma after the bleedings reoccurred.
The Iranian regime’s henchmen returned him to prison while he was still in critical condition.
Mr Mashallah Haeri,a political prisoners of the 1980s, was condemned to 15 years in prison in December 2009 for visiting his relatives in Camp Ashraf, Iraq.
Due to the brutal tortures and the deplorable prison conditions, he now suffers from acute heart and respiratory ailments and has suffered several heart attacks.
Nonetheless, the torturers have persistently deprived him of receiving proper medical care.
Depriving inmates of receiving medical care is common method used by the Iranian regime aimed at breaking the unwavering political prisoners.
The Iranian Resistance calls on all international organizations in defense of human rights, to take urgent action to save political prisoner Mashallah Haeri and other ill prisoners who are under clerical regime’s anti-human pressures.
