Officials in the Gohardasht Prison prevent his release despite the insistence of the prison’s clinic about the deterioration of Hassan Tafah’s health. This 85 year-old inmate suffers from blood cancer.
Hassan Tafah was arrested in 2008 by security forces and transferred to Evin Prison ’s Ward 209. The charge pressed against this member of the Iraq Lawyers Federation and International Federation of Lawyers and Jurists is “moharebe, acting against national security and propaganda against the establishment”.
