Recent reports of protests in Iran
Workers of the Dehghan Electric Farsan Company, manufacturer of various refrigerators, went on strike on Sunday, June 29th, and staging a rally outside the regime’s governor office. These workers are saying they haven’t received their paychecks for 3 months, warning the employers they will continue their strike until their paychecks are deposited.
Workers of the Farrokhshahr Steel Industries Company rallied on Sunday, June 29th, demanding two months of their unpaid salaries.
A number of bakeries in Sanandaj in western Iran protested low wages for the workers, rallying outside the regime’s governor office in this city.
Sanandaj bakers have rallied many times in the past month but there has been no change in their paychecks to this day.
130 Iranian women’s rights activists protest to Volleyball Federation president
Over 130 women’s activists wrote an open letter to the World Volleyball Federation president and official monitoring the Iran-Poland match, defending women’s rights to come to stadiums to watch sports matches.
They called on these officials to defend Iranian women’s rights to come to stadiums to watch their desired games. This letter states, “We are demanding the lifting of any sexual discrimination in the stadiums. Iran’s sports federations must end such measures.”
The women’s rights activists criticized harsh behavior towards women and arresting those seeking to enter the stadiums.
“According to Iran’s Volleyball Federation Secretary Mahmoud Afshardoust, this federation only places a number of the federation’s female employees amongst the fans to deceive international observers!” (Radio Zamane – July 1, 2014)

 Iran - Female criminals: targets of apprehension & harassment by state police
Mansoure Amir Abadi, head of the center of rounding up criminals in the city of Birjand, referred to this fact that from March of this year up to June 21st, 55 criminals in Birjand were arrested. “Of this number 29 were men and the remaining were women,” he stipulated.
Amir Abadi said 36 drug addicts were among those arrested. “Of this number 12 were men and 24 were women,” he added.
“Divorce, drug addiction and not having any caretaker are amongst the main reasons behind women resorting to crimes,” Abadi continued. (State-run ISNA news agency – June 30, 2014)
