Iran: labor activist Ghaleb Hosseini thrown behind bars

               

Labor activist Ghaleb Hosseini has been sent to Sanandaj Central Prison to spend six months behind bars.
Hosseini was detained on 19March 20 13 and was under interrogation for two months in the Sanandaj Intelligence Department. Then he was freed on bail amounting to 1.5 billion rials (around $50,000). He was then sentenced to one year in prison for membership in a coordinating committee and another 6 months for propagating against the system, meaning a total of 18 months behind bars. Finally, the appeals court cancelled the ruling based on his membership in a coordinating committee, yet confirmed his 6-month jail term ruling for propagating against the system.
