On Friday, April 3, after the soccer match between the two teams of Foulad of Khuzestan and Esteqlal of Tehran, the valiant people and youth of Ahwaz staged a demonstration against mullahs’ regime.
Inside and outside the stadium, as well as in the Ahwaz-Khorramshahr intersection, the youth chanted anti-government slogans to express their rage and loath for the suppressive and discriminatory policies in Khuzestan. The suppressive forces engaged the protesting people around government institutions. Sound of shots fired could be heard in these places.
Similarly, on March 17 and following the soccer match between the Foulad of Khuzestan and Al-Helal of Saudi Arabia, people stages a large demonstration and expressed their loath for regime’s criminal and oppressive measures against the people of Khuzestan. The angry people staged a large protest against the shocking self-immolation of a petty seller by the name of Youness Asakereh on 13 March 20 15 in protest to repressive measures by regime’s elements who had obstructed his toil. People carried placards that read: “We are all Youness”
A large number of people from various cities of Khuzestan participated in the burial ceremony of Youness Asakereh who died due to the severity of his burns and infection on March 22 and the ceremony turned into another scene of protest and loath toward the clerical regime.
The people of Khuzestan are suffering from poverty, unemployment and hunger while Khuzestan is one of the most productive and wealthy regions of Iran. However, the enormous wealth of the Iranian people is spent on suppression, export of terrorism, warmongering in the region, and ominous nuclear projects or is alternatively plundered by regime’s leaders.
