IRAN: Attacks on Evin and Gohardasht prisons in aftermath of nuclear deal

NCRI - In the days after the nuclear deal, henchmen of the religious dictatorship ruling Iran raided and harassed prisoners in Evin and Gohardasht prisons.
Wednesday midnight, July 15, Evin Prison guards raided Ward 8 of this prison where political prisoners are held. The henchmen woke up all prisoners and forced them out of the ward searching the place until 1 a.m.
During this cruel raid, Reza Entessari, a Dervish prisoner, developed a heart problem and was transferred to prison’s infirmary, but henchmen did not give him any medical treatment.
Hours later (at 10 a.m. Thursday), once again the henchmen threw all prisoners – some fasting – out of the ward and sent them to prison yard under the hot summer sun and once again searched prisoners’ belongings.
Subsequently at 1 pm on Thursday, the prisoners of Hall 12, Ward 7, were also attacked by prison guards.
Henchmen body searched all prisoners and sent prisoners out in the hot weather and searched their belongings for three hours.
On the same day, the prisoners of Ward 3 of Gohardasht (Rajai Shahr) prison of Karaj were also targeted by regime’s henchmen. The prison guards who were commanded by henchmen such as Amirian, Bagheri and Zolfali sent prisoners to the prison yard in 40 degrees celcius temperature where they were badly battered. Following this barbaric behavior and as prisoners were shouting and moaning, the political prisoners of Ward 12 of this prison staged a protest and chanted slogans against the henchmen.
The Iranian regime’s Supreme Leader tries in vain to make up for his forced retreats in the nuclear projects by severely violating the human rights so as to save his hegemony from weakening.
Turning of a blind eye by the international community, especially the European Union and the United States, regarding the catastrophic condition of human rights in Iran has no interpretation but a partaking in the suppression and slaughter of the Iranian people. Any relations with the Iranian regime have to be contingent upon improvement of the situation of human rights in Iran, including the release of all political prisoners.
