Iran: A young woman commits suicide setting herself on fire

Young women committing suicide by setting herself on fire due to poverty and various pressures in life has become a troubling continuing trend in Iran these days. In the latest such case in the cities of Mariwan and Ashnawiye two young women committed suicide through self- inflammation and lost their lives. The young woman who died in Mariwan was named Fateme. She committed suicide due to poverty and not being able to make ends meet.
Another young woman at the age of 25 in Ashnawiya committed such a suicide. After being hospitalized for a few days she died due to the severity of her wounds.
