46,000 troops dispatched to crackdown on Iranian women, youths: Maryam Rajavi

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance
Iranian opposition leader Maryam Rajavi , President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, said the Iranian regime’s decision to “train and organize” 46,000 troops in groups of ten to control and monitor the streets is a reaction to the rising spirit of protests within the Iranian society, especially among women and youths, .
“The dispatching of 46,000 troops to the streets takes place according to a new legislation that supports the Bassij paramilitary forces in their operations to counter protests by women and youths,” Mrs. Rajavi wrote on her Facebook page.
“The adoption of this law is also a sign of the mullahs’ frustration in curbing the Iranian people’s growing protests.”
“If the ruling regime were not unstable, shaky and under pressure of our compatriots, it would not need to undertake such mobilization.”
Mrs. Rajavi called on all Iranians, especially women and youths, to stand up to the heightened security measures by the fearful mullahs.
“The religious tyranny is in need of terrorizing the public to cover up its extreme weaknesses, but the Iranian women and youth are able to defeat and overcome this regime,” Mrs. Rajavi wrote.
