Iran: Suppression of Baha’is ratcheted up

On November 15, seventeen Baha’is were arrested in Tehran, Esfahan and Mashhad.

Murder of a Baha’i, arrest of 17, closing down businesses of dozens of others

The antihuman Iranian regime has resorted to a new wave of suppression and arrest of Baha’i compatriots throughout the country in the recent days. On November 15, seventeen Baha’is were arrested in Tehran, Esfahan and Mashhad. The suppressive forces searched their houses and business places confiscating some of their property.
Concurrently, on November 14 and 15, businesses of some other Baha’i citizens were closed down in Rafsanjan, Sari, Tonekabon and Qaemshahr. Suppressive forces closed down these businesses because they had not opened their shops because of Baha’i religious ceremonies.
Concurrently, on November 14, a Baha’i compatriot Mr. Kourosh Rouhi was suspiciously killed in the parking place of his home in Shiraz.
The Iranian Resistance strongly condemns the criminal and brutal oppression of Baha’is and calls on all international human rights agencies and the current session of the UN General Assembly and all member states to condemn in the strongest fashion the religious fascism ruling Iran for its cruel and systematic violation of human rights, including group and arbitrary executions, repression of various ethnicities and nations, and followers of various religions and faiths and to refer the dossier of crimes of this regime, including the execution of 120,000 political prisoners, to the United Nations Security Council.
