Iran: Female political prisoner deprived of leave after six years

Reyhaneh Haj Ibrahim Dabbagh, political prisoner in Evin Prison, is suffering from intestinal colitis and pain in her feet. After six years of imprisonment, she continues to be deprived of going on leave.

The Prosecutor’s Office set a 900million-touman property bail last year to grant her leave. However, her family were unable to provide the bail.

Ms. Haj Ibrahim was arrested on January 6, 2010, in the uprisings in Tehran and charged with having contact with the Iranian opposition PMOI/MEK. She was sentenced to death in court but in the revision stage, her sentence was commuted to 15 years imprisonment.
