A woman was hanged in Kashmar Prison in Kurdistan province, west of Iran.
“In the early morning hours of Thursday, April 14 the death sentence of a woman by the name of Amene Rezaian was carried out in Kashmer Prison,” an informed source reported to the Kurdistan Human Rights Network.
“Amene, 34, was from the city of Taibad. She was arrested two years ago on charges of possessing narcotics, and sentenced to death,” the source added.
Currently there is at least one other woman by the name of Khavar B. on death row on drug related charges. She is currently detained in the women’s ward of Kashmer Prison.
