White House: Iran's support for terrorism and destabilizing actions has not changed

 Washington- Ben Rhodes the assistant to President Obama and US deputy national security advisor said  that since the nuclear deal, Iran's foreign policy and its  support for terrorism, its ballistic missile program, and it’s destabilizing actions in the region 'has not changed'.

In a speech at the Atlantic Council in the Washington, D.C. on Thursday, June 16, 2016   Rhodes said that after the nuclear deal, '  many other aspects of Iranian behavior – and U.S.-Iran relations – remain unchanged. Iran has not ceased its support for terrorist organizations like Hizbollah or its threats toward Israel. Iran has continued to test ballistic missiles. From Iraq to Yemen, Iran has continued to engage in destabilizing support for proxy organizations. Despite the diplomacy that has brought Iran into discussions about resolving the Syrian civil war, Iran continues to be one of the chief sponsors of an Assad regime that brutally murders the Syrian people.'
He added 'In short, Iran’s approach to its nuclear program has changed, but thus far, its broader foreign policy– and the nature of its regime– has not.'
Rhodes emphasized that 'the broader progress with Iran is the most limited. As the Supreme Leader reminds us, Iran is not changing its inherent opposition to the United States. Unlike Cuba, Iran hasn’t shown interest in normalizing relations with the United States, or allowing us to open an Embassy, even if we wanted to.'
