Political prisoner condemns executions of Iranian dissidents

An Iranian political prisoner has released a new message condemning the recent executions of political prisoners in Iran.
Mahdi Farahi Shandiz, who is imprisoned for insulting the regime’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, and on the bogus charge of disturbing public order, smuggled the message out of the regime’s notorious Gohardasht (Rajai-Shahr) Prison in Karaj, north-west of Tehran, on Thursday.
The following is the text of his message:
Message of political prisoner Mehdi Farahi Shandiz condemning the execution of Sunni political prisoners and Mohammad Abdollahi
Killing machine of the Velayat-e-Faqih (supreme leader) is at work non-stop and does not stop. We had not yet recovered from the shock of the news of the execution of Sunni political prisoners that we heard the execution of another political prisoner from the deprived people of Kurdistan.
The question is what are these unbridled executions for? Why are political prisoners executed in groups? Do these actions show the strength of the foundations of the rule of the velayat-e-faqih dictatorship? Is Khamenei committing these crimes from a position of so-called power?
These acts never show the power or stability of the rotten system of velayat-e-faqih. It is clear for the people of Iran and the world’s public opinion that dictatorships resort to killing out of weakness and desperation and their downfall. Those who remember the last days of the Pahlavi dynasty tyranny understand this notion well that dictators, when they see their rule on the verge of collapse and fall, resort to killing and crimes in order to stand against the torrent of floods of freedom seeking peoples.
Now Khamenei and the whole criminal rule of the velayat-e-faqih, by cowardly executing political prisoners, send only one message to the Iranian nation and that is that they are at war with everyone in a nation that wants freedom, democracy and popular sovereignty.
I condemn the execution of our Sunni brothers and Mohammad Abdollahi. My only response to Khamenei is ‘keep fighting and we will fight back.’ This torrent of floods will remove you with all levers of your dictatorship. History and freedom-fighting people around the globe have proved this and for Iran too, the rule of peace, prosperity and brightness is on the horizon.
Political prisoner Mehdi Farahi Shandiz
August 11, 2016
Background:
Earlier this month Mehdi Farahi Shandiz released an open letter commemorating Iran’s 1988 massacre of political prisoners in which some 30,000 political prisoners – the vast majority activists of the main opposition group People’s Mojahedin (PMOI or MEK) – were executed. In the letter, smuggled out of prison, he makes a renewed call for the regime’s corrupt leaders to be brought to trial for crimes against humanity.
