Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll Surpasses 142,800 in 462 Cities

Iran, coronavirus update

  • Alireza Zali, head of the Coronavirus Combat Task Force: The virus momentum has increased in Tehran. With that, it would be better to lockdown Tehran for two weeks in order to recharge the healthcare personnel. (ISNA, November 4, 2020);
  • Medical Sciences University in Tehran: All beds allotted to COVID-19 are occupied. We are continually adding new beds as patients continue to increase. (ISNA, November 4, 2020);
  • Medical Sciences University in Shahroud: The extent of infection in areas under the supervision of this University in Shahroud and Miami is 1.5 times the national rate. (IRNA, November 4, 2020);
  • Medical Sciences University in Yazd: In the past 24 hours, 18 COVID-19 patients died. 982 are hospitalized and 161 are in ICU. (Mehr news agency, November 4, 2020).

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced this afternoon, Wednesday, November 4, 2020, that Coronavirus has taken the lives of more than 142,800 people in 462 cities across Iran. The death toll in various provinces include: 34,631 in Tehran, 10,777 in Khorasan Razavi, 8,438 in Khuzestan, 8,024 in Isfahan, 6,108 in Lorestan, 6,085 in Qom, 5,011 in East Azerbaijan, 4,278 in West Azerbaijan, 3,965 in Alborz, 3,768 in Fars, 3,308 in Kermanshah, 2,590 in Kurdistan, 2,344 in North Khorasan, 2,336 in Yazd, 2,282 in Kerman, 2,207 in Markazi (Central), 2,202 in Semnan, 1,588 in Ardabil, 1,452 in Qazvin, 1,354 in South Khorasan, 1,340 in Zanjan, and 1,169 in Ilam.
