Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll Surpasses 157,900 in 465 Cities

• Isfahan Medical Sciences University: In 22 cities, 3,090 COVID-19 patients have died. In one week, 356 have died. (Mehr news agency, November 17, 2020).
• Ardebil Medical Sciences University: In the past 24 hours, we have seen a record broken by seeing the death of 19 patients.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced this afternoon, November 17, 2020, that the Coronavirus has taken the lives of more than 157,900 people in 465 cities across Iran. The death toll in various provinces include: 38,591 in Tehran, 11,700 in Khorasan Razavi, 8,880 in Isfahan, 8,870 in Khuzestan, 6,675 in Lorestan, 5,892 in East Azerbaijan, 4,016 in Golestan, 4,065 in Hamedan, 5,268 in West Azerbaijan, 4,320 in Fars, 4,065 in Hamedan, 3,916 in Sistan and Baluchestan, 3,453 in Kermanshah, 2,978 in Central, 2,742 in Yazd, 2,678 in Kerman, 2,528 in North Khorasan, 2,390 in Semnan, 1,780 in Hormozgan, 1,733 in Ardebil, 1,719 in Bushehr, 1,610 in Qazvin, 1,450 in Ilam, and 1,235 in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari.

Saeed Namaki, the regime Health Minister, was quoted by Tasnim news agency today as saying, “One of the most critical phases for Coronavirus pandemic in the country is the two weeks starting Saturday. If we are negligent, we would have four-digit deaths. Negligence in this period means losing. So, if anyone violates (the regulations), we must not show mercy. Anyone could be a viral bomb because today the virus can spread to 10 people and the illness has spread to families.”

Abdulreza Rahmani Fazli, the Interior Minister told State TV today, “We are not deciding between good and bad. We are deciding between bad and worse. All of us must know this. Because, on the other hand, we have a high human toll, high economic toll, high social toll. Therefore, we are compelled to make a decision, between bad and worse, or in reality between worst and worst. Any decision we make will have a toll. In other words, decisions do not come without a cost.”
