Iran: Youth protest the drying of Karoon River

       

In Ahwaz, southern Iran, a large number of youth protested government’s actions resulting in drying of Karoon River. They put up posters and signs in a sports’ stadium saying 'hail to Karoon' and 'Karoon is not dead.'
A group of sports’ fans also gathered outside the stadium holding placards saying 'Karoon belongs to Khuzestan.' This campaign was widely welcomed by other young people and youth in the area.
