Video: Italian Senator: Halt Iran’s export of terrorism to tackle Islamic extremism

Halting Iran's meddling in the Middle East and supporting the Iranian Resistance are the only ways to tackle the rise of ISIS and Islamic extremism, Italian senator Antonio Razzi has told a conference in Paris.
Mr Razzi also issued his support for the plight of Iranian dissidents in Camp Liberty and condemned the widespread human rights abuses in the Iranian regime.
He told the gathering on January 11: "We also unconditionally condemn the criminal acts and bloodshed that stained France by fanatical group that has nothing to do with Islam.
"It has been 18 months since the election of the so-called moderate president of the mullahs. But in this time, he has not kept a single one of his electoral promises, more than 1,200 people have been hanged and repression against women and young people has intensified.
"Over Christmas he reinforced the oppression of Christians, so that they were not allowed to celebrate Christmas in their homes. On the first day of 2015, 14 people, including 4 women, were hanged."
The Iranian regime now sees interfering in the affairs of other countries as the only way of getting out of its current deep crisis, and is exporting fundamentalism and terrorism to Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Afghanistan and Bahrain, he said.
He added: "And yet we hear some Western politicians say that Iran will be part of the coalition against ISIS.
"How can it be a credible alliance against ISIS and fundamentalism, when it is a country that for three decades has been producing and exporting fundamentalism in the name of Islam.
"Any involvement of the Iranian regime in the coalition against ISIS will be a fatal mistake that will benefit only the regime of Bashar Assad and the oppressive regime ruling Iran.
"I believe instead that the real solution to the problems of the Middle East, as has been repeatedly stated by President Maryam Rajavi, is a moderate and tolerant Islam.
"To tackle Islamic extremism and ISIS, first you have to prevent the Iranian regime's meddling in the whole region, and then support the Iranian Resistance in breaking the most extremist regimes and the godfather of fundamentalism, namely the Iranian theocratic regime."
Mr Razzi, who is the Secretary of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Italian Senate, added: "Regarding the respect of human rights, I would like to repeat the words of Mrs Maryam Rajavi. Do not sacrifice human rights for the nuclear agreement.
"Each tribute to Iran urges it to intensify the crisis in the Middle East. I will ask my government and the Senate of the Italian Republic to take an initiative to send the dossier of the violation of human rights of the Iranian regime to the UN Security Council."
