Iran: political prisoner in absentia sentenced to 1 more year in jail

The Evin Prison prosecutor’s office on Monday, December 14th sentenced political prisoner Ali Moezi, the father of two members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, to one more year in jail. He is currently held in ward 8 of Evin Prison.
This ruling was issued against him in absentia in branch 28 of Tehran’s revolution courts.
Ali Moezi has during his detention continued his activities against the Islamic republic of Iran in line with the PMOI’s objectives, and in prison he has taken on measures to recruit prisoners to this group, the court order reads in part. All his statements in prison are being broadcasted by anti-regime broadcasters and the PMOI’s TV channel, the report continued.
