Iran: At least 10 per cent of drug-related prisoners are women

In the first meeting on the role of women in society’s health, a government official revealed that a shocking 10 per cent of drug-related prisoners are women.

Mostafa Rastineh, head of the gathering, said, “Presently, 18 ministries are tasked with diminishing social ills but lack of coordination among them has prevented a worthy outcome. The ministries actually work as islands.”
