Dozens of Art major students at Tehran University rallied in the campus on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 to protest a visit by the representatives of the regime's environmental organization and municipality planning to give speeches in one of the university’s auditorium.
According to eyewitnesses, the measure taken by students was an attempt to denounce the cutting of trees in Tehran, in particular those in Valiasr Street, where the Tehran University of Art is situated.
Students who were already inside the conference hall walked out and joined other students on campus holding the protest.
The repressive intelligence and security officers in the Herasat Office on campus failed to quell the protest, and the government officials who came to the university were forced to leave.
The students held banners reading: 'May God keep away this country from lies and famine.'
