Iranian musician in Tehran’s Evin Prison on hunger strike for 55 days and counting

Isameel Barzegari, a musician from northwestern Iran currently detained in Tehran’s Evin Prison solitary confinement, has been on hunger strike for 55 days and counting. He is now suffering from acute illness resulting from the hunger strike. Due to his dire conditions Evin clinic physicians have warned about him continuing his hunger strike. During the past days this hunger striking inmate has suffered from irregular breathing and has been forced to resort to using oxygen tanks.
