At 8 am Monday morning, April 21st, a group of families of political prisoners detained in 2ard 350 of Evin Prison went to meet with their loved ones. However, the Rouhani regime’s security and intelligence henchmen did not allow them inside the facility.
This visit was very important for the families, especially after the vicious raid against the prisoners of ward 350 last Thursday. The family members were seeking to gain information about their loved ones. Cancelling such visits raised anger amongst the family members and led to them stage this protest gathering outside Evin Prison.
Rouhani’s regime has imposed intense security conditions around Evin Prison over fears of family protest gatherings spreading, recent reports obtain from inside Iran indicate. The regime’s plainclothes and intelligence agents are keeping the protesters under close watch.
Recent reports indicate these families have chanted ‘Death to Dictator’ and arranged to hold protest gatherings outside Rouhani’s office tomorrow.
