RWB condemned Iranian regime vicious raid against Evin Pol prisoners
Reporters Without Borders condemned the ‘raid’ against prisoners of ward 350 in Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison and ‘flagrant human rights violations in Iran’s prisons’.
This organization issued a statement calling on for ‘immediate intervention’ by UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay, and UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran Ahmed Shaheed to ‘protect the lives of political prisoners and imprisoned reporters and bloggers’.
Iran respects no laws, neither international laws nor even its own laws, an RWB official said, adding the Iranian officials’ violence against prisoners is an inhumane and shameful act. This measure is carried out to punish heroes that continue to resist despite crackdown and cruelty they have suffered all these years, the statement continues.
Prior to this Amnesty International had condemned the Iranian regime’s raid against Evin political prisoners and warned of the ‘threat the lives of these prisoners are faced with’.
