Iranian regime henchmen have intensified pressures on a number of political prisoners and supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organizaion of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Evin prison depriving them of receiving urgent medical treatment.
Mr, Ali Moezi, 63, who is suffering from cancer has been prevented to have a hospital visit despite bleeding of his kidneys.
Six months ago he was transferred for some time to solitary confinement in Evin prison for refusing to participate in a sham trial presided by henchman judge Salavati known as the “death judge”. Since then he has been has been deprived from receiving family visit.
Ali Moezi, who also has been a political prisoner in 1980s, was arrested in November 2008 for visiting his two children in Camp Ashraf and was subsequently sentenced to two years in prison.
In June 2011, a few days after having a medical surgery, he was once again arrested for participating in the funeral of Mr. Mohsen Dogmechi, a PMOI supporter who had been tortured to death in prison by being deprived of medical treatment.
Another political prisoner and supporter of PMOI,Mr. Mashallah (Hamid) Haeri, 62, is deprived of receiving medical treatment despite acute heart ailment and respiratory diseases.
So far he has suffered several heart attacks. Henchmen had set a 15 billion Rial bond to let him to take a leave from prison for receiving medical treatment. Even though his family collected the amount with great difficulty, henchmen continue to prevent him from leaving prison.
Mr. Haeri, who had been a political prisoner in 1980s, was arrested in December 2009 because of having a brother and son in Ashraf. He was sentenced to 15 year prison imprisonment.
Mr. Haeri brother, Abdullah was seriously wounded during the February 9 rocket attack on Camp Liberty.
Iranian Resistance requests urgent attention from all international and human rights bodies, especially the Special Rapporteur for human rights in Iran and Special Rapporteurs on Arbitrary Detention and Torture, into the condition of political prisoners in Iran, especially Messrs. Ali Moezi and Mashallah Haeri.
