Iran: civil activist detained

Kurdish civil activist Afshin Hossein Panahi

Agents of the Intelligence and the security services (MOIS) in the town of Dehgolan arrested Kurdish civil activist Afshin Hossein Panahi on the morning of April 9.
Agents of the Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS/VEVAK) entered the home of this Kurdish civil activist without any judicial order, attacking and seriously beating him, a family member said. They then began searching his entire house, confiscating his belongings and transferring this individual to an unknown location.
His detention comes at a time when prior to this a number of his relatives by the names of Puya Hossein Panahi, Arman Hossein Panahi, Salman Hossein Panahi and Puya Moghadam had been arrested. To this day there is no news about their fate or whereabouts.
