Iran: political prisoner transferred from Evin Prison to Arak

Harsh prison conditions in Iran
Kurdish political prisoner Samku Khelghati, 35, currently held in ward 7 of Tehran’s Evin Prison , was transferred to Arak prison on August 18. This political prisoner has to this day been transferred many times from wards 209, 7 and 350 and also held for some time in Karaj’s Rajaie Shahr Prison, west of Tehran.
This Kurdish prisoner is a metallurgy graduate from Tehran’s Sharif Industrial University. He has been condemned to 15 years in prison by the Arak ‘revolution’ court on charges of “measures against national security through his membership in Kurdish parties opposing the Islamic state in Iran”.
