NCRI – The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or MEK) has risen to fight for the freedom of the Iranian people from the clutches of religious tyranny, former Algerian Prime Minister Sid Ahmed Ghozali has said.
Mr. Ghozali paid tribute to the PMOI members who were slain last week in a terrorist rocket attack on Camp Liberty, near Baghdad, by agents of the mullahs' regime in Iran. He addressed a ceremony in Paris on November 1 held to remember the PMOI (MEK) members who were killed in the attack.
The rocket attack left 24 unarmed and defenseless PMOI (MEK) members killed and dozens of others injured.
“I share in your suffering and in the suffering of all freedom-fighters who are around you and with you. Through you, I want to speak to my sisters and brothers in Camp Liberty and to humbly praise their perseverance,” Mr. Ghozali said.
“These freedom-fighters are building the human civilization, since what we have seen so far is a world of barbarity and cruelty, as well as a world of civilization and humanity.”
“Fifty years ago, the PMOI (MEK) rose to fight for freedom and this is a battle not just to emancipate its own people, but to emancipate all peoples and more than anyone the Arab and Muslim peoples.”
“I say to the freedom-fighters, to my sisters and brothers in Camp Liberty: You know better than I that a price has to be paid to gain something and for a nation to have freedom. A nation has to pay the price with their dearest and most valuable people. You know better than I about who these people are that we have in Camp Liberty and you know all too well the price of freedom. Some 30,000 political prisoners were executed in Iran in 1988 in a matter of months because they refused to deny their affiliation with the PMOI. They knew all too well the price of saying ‘no’ to the dictatorship ruling Iran.”
“Today, my heart is broken, but I don’t know if this pain is because of sharing in your suffering or because of my ire for those statesmen that keep talking about human rights and liberty, but it is a year now that they are sitting at the same table with the murderers of humanity. It is many years now that we along with thousands of dignitaries and legislators around the world are exposing this policy of appeasement.”
“Here, we are talking about the credibility of these governments and their responsibilities. And here I directly address the U.S. government that had guaranteed the protection of each and every resident of Camp Ashraf [now in Camp Liberty] in return for the consolidation of their weapons. Was it not the United States that made this promise? And was it not the United States that guaranteed protection if they relocated from Camp Ashraf to Camp Liberty?”

“It is a rare phenomenon in history that they would take all the weapons on the condition and with the promise to provide security, but then leave Ashraf residents to be targeted by missiles that are built by the Iranian [regime].”
“The time has come for everyone to shoulder their responsibility. As much as I cherish the advances of nations and western people, so do I question the credibility of the western governments. Every day, they advocate human rights and individual and collective rights, but at the same time they sit at the same table with the murderers of human rights and freedom,” he added.
