Iran: Denying medical care to political prisoner, child rights activist

Political prisoner Saeed Hosseinzade

Despite the deteriorating physical conditions of political prisoner Saeed Hosseinzadeh, a child rights activist, and the need for a surgery on him, he continues to be deprived of further medical care. The Revolutionary Guards intelligence branch is imposing these restrictions.

This prison is suffering from various illnesses while in detention, including heart problems, knee arthritis, lung infection, severe pains in the neck and shoulders, rheumatism, breathing disorders and internal abdominal bleeding.
The physical conditions of this political prisoner has deteriorated due to torture while under detention, despite the fact that he has been transferred from ward 2A to ward 8, and then ward 2 of hall 7 in Evin Prison . This individual is in need to undergo surgery.
This political prisoner had been arrested by the IRGC intelligence at his hope in October 2014 and transferred to solitary confinement of ward 2A in Evin Prison.
In an appeals court he had been sentenced to 7 years for “propaganda against the state” and “insulting the leader”.
