Iran: Relatives of PMOI members in Camp Liberty arrested in Tehran

The Iranian regime’s intelligence agents arrested Ms. Fatemeh Rezvani and Ms. Azar Karvandi, both relatives of People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) members in Camp Liberty on Monday, December 21. The agents attacked the home they had gathered in on the occasion of ‘Yalda night’ (Iranian celebration on the occasion of the longest night of the year). They searched everyone present, including the guests, and took their mobile phones with them. Subsequently, the regime’s agents raided the homes of the guests and took with them the photo albums and other belongings.
Ms. Rezvani is sister to Mr. Qasem Rezvani who was martyred in the September 1, 2013 massacre of Camp Ashraf and Ms. Karvandi is a political prisoner of the 1980s whose son is in Camp Liberty.
Attacks on families of PMOI members in Camp Liberty and their detention is taking place while the Iranian regime is constantly dispatching intelligence and Quds Force agents under the pretext of family members to Camp Liberty to psychologically torture the residents and pave the way for their massacre.
The Iranian Resistance calls on all international human rights bodies, especially the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, to take effective measures to secure the release of all political prisoners, especially Ms. Fatemeh Rezvani and Ms. Azar Karvandi.
