Agency – As summoning and arresting Arab civic activists are continuing
in different places in Iran, on Sunday April 21, 2013 Adel Simeri and
Majeed Bavi have arrested in Ahwaz.
According to a report by the Committee of Human
Rights Reporters, a number of armed plain-clothe agents Sunday early
morning showed up in Mr. Simeri’s work place, intimidated the other
clerks and inspected Simeri’s work place that Simeri and one of his
colleagues were beaten as they confronted agents; then the agents
arrested and transferred Mr. Simeri.
According to the reports another bunch of
agents at the same time showed up at Mr. Simeri’s house, inspected his
house and confiscated some of his personal stuff as Computer, Camera and
photo albums. Also they insulted Simeri’s family and threatened them
that if they will release the news of what happened, they will be in
trouble.
According to the same report, at Sunday
afternoon on April 21, 2013 Majeed Bavi another Arab activist arrested
in Ahwaz and been transferred to unknown location.
There is no news related to their whereabout and the reason of arrest.
Adel and Majeed are of those who opposed and
objected the death sentence of Jaber Alboshokeh, Mokhtar Alboshokeh,
Hadi Rashedi, Hashem Sha’baninezhad and Mohammad Ali Amoorinezhad the
five Arab activists from Ramsheer.
During the past few months a lot of Arab civic
activists in different cities of Khouzestan were summoned, arrested and
some of them sentenced to longterm imprisonment, exile and death.
Ahmad Shaheed, the united nation’s special
rapporteur on human rights in Iran, mentioned the recent pressures on
Arab minority and the issued judiciary verdicts for them in his latest
reports.
