Netherlands Senate Majority – Iran Declaration “We express our abhorrence regarding the systematic human rights violations in Iran that continue despite international condemnations. We also express our strong concerns on Iran’s secret nuclear program and this regime’s terrorist meddling in the region and across the globe.
“The Iranian people and international community seek democratic change in Iran in 2013. To reach this goal we completely support the ten-article plan presented by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, and we call on our government to this measure.
“We also call on our government and the United Nations Secretary-General to refer Iran’s human rights violations dossier to the UN Security Council and to demand the prosecution of those who committed these crimes in Iran.
“We are also deeply concerned over the security of Iranian refugees in Camp Liberty in Iraq, members of Iran’s main opposition. On February 9th this camp was attacked with 40 rockets, leading to 8 residents being killed and over 100 injured. To this day the most urgent matter is the security of Camp Liberty residents, and they are facing such threats and dangers at every moment. Therefore, we call on the UN Refugee Agency to immediately return them to Ashraf, which has been their residence for the past 26 years, because Ashraf is 80 times larger than Liberty prison - with an area of ½ square kilometer – and is much more secure against such attacks.”
