Prisoners in section 350 of Evin prison are on strike

HRANA News Agency – Twenty five prisoners in ward 350 of Evin prison denied to have visitors and protested when 10 of their cellmates have been transferred to solitaire.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), right after transferring 10 prisoners of ward 50 to solitaire cells of ward 240, the prisoners in ward 350 started strike and more than 25 of them did boycott the visit time as its the basic right of the prisoners and they did visit their families on Monday as a protest action.

The name of some of the prisoners who participated in this action in solidarity with those transferred prisoners to solitaire cells and in protest to the behaving of prison head and the head of visiting section -Seyyedi-, are: Abdolfattah Soltani, Mehdi Khodaie, Majeed Asadi, Abdolreza Ghanbari, Asghar Ghattan, Gholamreza Khosravi, Mohammad Rezaie, Masoud Pedram, Mahmoud Bagheri, Mohammad Amin Hadovi, Feizollah Arab Sorkhi, Alireza Rajaie, Mohammad Sadegh Rabbani, Peiman Kas Nezhad, Aslanpour, Mohammadi, Nouri, Hesseini and … .

A family member of one of prisoners who denied to go to visit his family said to HRANA corespondent “The families of the prisoners protested against this behave of the authorities and were stayed until the last moment in the hall of visiting and asked Seyyedi why the prisoners did not come to visit their families, what happened to them and how is their health condition that resulted a mess in the hall because of non-cooperation of Seyyedi with the families.”

“The tale began a week ago on Monday a child of a Gonabadi dervish was crying a lot and his family asked Mr. Seyyedi to let them stretch the visit time a bit more but Seyyedi refused their request did not care about the child’s crying, then the families and prisoners refused to leave the hall that resulted a messy situation and fight between agents and visitors. This matter made all the prisoners angry and Mr. Saied Madani the lawyer of ward 350 followed up two things severely. First objection on the behaves of Seyyedi and second one to the profiteer shop of prison which resulted calling the government observer on prices to visit the prison. Subsequently the head of prison announced that Mr. Madani will not be the lawyer of the ward anymore and prisoners have to choose someone else. Prisoners objected the decision about Mr. Madani widely and it resulted skirmish with prison agents and transferring 10 of prisoners such as Saied Madani, Kamran Ayyazi and … to solitaire cells of ward 240″, He continued.
