Monday, December 23 was the 50th day of hunger strike by 6 Kurdish political prisoners in Iran's notorious Gezel-Hesar prison. Jamshi Dehghani, one of the 6 prisoners on Strike fainted due to extreme weakness. Others are in the same situation. Kamal Molaie and Hamid Ahmadi are experiencing severe chest pain. All six were sent to the prison hospital and were diagnosed in critical condition. But the prison authorities refuse to give them proper attention. Despite brutal pressures on them by the prison authorities, they say they continue with their strike until their death sentence is annulled.
Outside the prison and in front of the governor's office, families and friends of those six prisoners gathered demanding the sentences be revoked. But their plea fell in to deaf ears. Families of those prisoners threatened to take their complaint to the International Court of Human Rights.
