NCRI – More than 750 schools in Sistan and Baluchistan Province, southeastern Iran, have no water or electricity, the Iranian regime’s officials have admitted.
The highest illiteracy rate in the country is found in Sistan and Baluchistan Province, especially in the southern areas. Lack of educational atmospheres and the lack of adequate schools all add to the problems in this region.
Currently there is a shortage of 36 schools in the town of Fanuj; 54 in the town of Banat; 11 in the town Bazman; 120 in the city of Iranshahr; 85 in the city of Sarbaz; 93 in the city of Rasek; and 99 in the city of Chabahar, the state-run Fars news agency quoted officials as saying on Saturday.
In the southern areas of Sistan and Baluchistan alone 331 schools lack electricity, 428 schools lack water and 978 lack any walls, officials said.
“Currently there are 194 schools and 649 classrooms in the city of Nikshahr, while five of these schools are made of mud bricks,” said Sahebgol Salehi, the regime’s mayor.
“In total there is a shortage of 47 schools and 167 classrooms in this city,” he added.
“Chahbahar has an 81% shortage in schools,” Ahmad-Ali Mohebati, the regime’s mayor said, adding the city has the “poorest” education system.
