A Kurdish political prisoner started hunger strike and sewed his lips

HRANA News Agency – Shahram Eliasi, political prisoner in Rajaie Shahr prison in protest to negligence and sabotage of prison officials started hunger strike and sewed his lips.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Shahram -Rahim- Eliasi political prisoner in Rajaie Shahr prison of Karaj who is sentenced to 11 years imprisonment started hunger strike since February 19th of 2013 and afterward sewed his lips in protest to negligence of his medical furlough.

Shahram Eliasi was arrested in 2006 in Bookan by security forces on charge of acting against national security, linking with Komala party and keeping guns and ammo.

He has been sentenced to 11 years imprisonment by Bookan revolutionary court and the verdict confirmed by appealed.

After passing five years of the verdict in prison the officials granted his furlough by 100 million tomans bail but later through the corruptions and sabotages of the officials, Shahram's family was informed that the furlough is canceled.

"Yesterday Shahram Eliasi summoned by the head of the security section of prison whose name is Farajnezhad and been threatened and insulted very harshly", One of his cellmates who wanted to be anonymous said to HRANA reporter.

"Because Farajnezhad pushed Shahram Eliasi to end his hunger strike then Shahram sewed his lips", his cellmate continued.
