Political prisoners congratulating Nowruz
Two exiled political prisoners in Zahean Central Prison which has the worst climate in Iran have sent their Nowruz (Persian New Year) greetings addressed to the Iranian people. They called on the people to rise up against the horrible situation ruling Iran.
In their statement, Iraj Mohammadi and Mohammad Amin-Augooshi, the two exiled pol. prisoners say: 'We are congratulating the Nowruz, the Iranian New Yearto all honorable Iranian people. Dear Iranian compatriots, last year was the year of depression, fear and despotism for the people and the year of collective executions and torture of prisoners. Many women became widowed, many children became orphans, and many parents lost their loved ones. We are hoping that in the New Year through the uprising of brave men and women of this land, we can lift this terrible climate of fear and intimidations and built a new and free society for all Iranians.
At the end of their statement they pleaded for the coming year to be named 'the year for freedom of political prisoner.'
