Police in Iran have arrested at least 120 men and women during three raids at mixed gender parties in Khorasan province (northeastern Iran) and Mazandaran Province (northern Iran).
A group of 14 women and 6 men were arrested at a party in Mashhad, state-runKhorasan newspaper reported on Sunday without providing any further information.
“Their case has been presented to the judiciary for the issuing of sentences to those arrested,” the report added.
Another group of 30 men and women were arrested while attending a party in the city of Babolsar in the northern province of Mazandaran and they were turned over to judicial authorities for sentencing, another state-run website reported on February 23.
On Thursday, Khorasan daily reported that 35 women and 40 men were arrested by the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) at a party.
The Basij forces of IRGC raided a night party and arrested all those in attendance, the report said.

The surge in arrests under these pretexts, humiliating punishments and executions, among other violations of human rights in Iran since Hassan Rouhani has become president, are aimed at spreading fear and intimidation among the public, particularly to the youth.
