Execution of six Sunni political prisoners is an anti-human atrocity and silence on pretense of nuclear negotiations is collaboration
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi , President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, offered her condolences to the Kurdish people and Sunnis, particularly the families of these martyrs, for the heroic martyrdom of six Sunni political prisoners, valiant children of the Kurdish people, who were hanged by clerical regime’s henchmen in Gohardasht Prison at dawn on Wednesday, March 4. She called on the Iranian nation of every faith, religion and tenet to rise throughout the country in solidarity with the families of the martyrs and the Sunnis.
Mrs. Rajavi called for a decisive condemnation of these arbitrary and collective executions by the international community, especially by the United NationsSecretary-General and Security Council, the European Union , and the United States and for immediate measures to halt this criminal trend and to refer the file of clerical regime’s atrocities, particularly the execution of political prisoners, to the International Criminal Court. She added that the criminal execution of the vigorous Sunni youth is happening while the terrorist Qods Force and its mercenary militias are incessantly slaughtering Sunnis in neighboring Iraq.
The execution of these six political prisoners and dozens of other executions is concurrent with the fresh round of nuclear talks in Montreux, Switzerland between the Iranian regime and the U.S. government. Silence and inaction in the face of these anti-human atrocities encourages this regime to continue with its crimes and is practically collaboration with this regime in ratcheting up suppression and slaughter to prevent popular uprisings during nuclear negotiations that the Iranian regime badly needs.
The henchmen of the religious fascism ruling Iran hanged six Sunni political prisoners, Messrs. Hamed Ahmadi, 33; Jahangir and Jamshid Dehqani (two brothers 28 and 29); Kamal Mollai, 30; Sediq Mohammadi, 28; and Hadi Hosseini, 31; while they were on a hunger strike and injured due to their beating by criminal guards. They were transferred on Tuesday morning from Ward 10 of Gohardasht Prison to solitary confinement in this prison in preparation for carrying out their execution.
These six were among the 33 Sunni prisoners condemned to death in clerical regime’s unfair trials on the mullah-fabricated charge of “propaganda against the system, corruption on earth, and Moharebeh”.
The clerical regime has refrained from handing over the bodies of the martyrs to their families, including their elderly parents and small children, who had been waiting all night long behind prison gates in the cold breeze of the night, and is preventing their transfer to their birthplaces in Kurdistan. It appears that in fear of popular protests in Kurdistan, the henchmen want to bury the bodies in a cemetery in Karaj hundreds of kilometers away from their homes and families.
