Tehran: Car owners and Taxi drives clash with Basij militants
A group of Basij militants under the orders of the hardline mullahs imposing the hated law of 'Enjoining of Virtue and Prohibiting Vice' staged almost a dozen check points on Azadi Blvd, from Tehran University to Enghelab Blvd. stopping cars and creating a traffic jam on Thursday Jan, 15. The move created heavy traffic preventing a normal flow of traffic. The move was to check inside the cars for the so called bad Hijab women and since drivers wouldn’t allow these annoying Basijis to search inside their cars or to pick on women for not observing mullahs imposed hijab, the traffic became intolerable and angering many drivers.
Eventually, fight broke out between drivers and the Basij militants bringing the traffic to a near halt. Some other cars and drivers did not pay any attention to the check points and rushed through barriers.
