NCRI - At least a dozen prisoners have been hanged in prisons across Iran since Sunday. Since the beginning of the New Year, 36 prisoners have been executed.
A group five prisoners were hanged in the main prison in the city of Arak (central Iran) on Wednesday, while another prisoner was executed in the main prison in the city of Sari (northern Iran), according to reports received from Iran.
A group of three men were hanged in the city of Kerman (southern Iran) on Monday. The prisoners were identified as Karim Alizehi, Hasan Rahimyar and Ghader Alizehi.
They had been transferred to solitary confinement in the city’s Shahab Prison the previous day. The executions were not announced on any of the judiciary’s websites.
However, the state-run media reported the hanging of a man on Sunday in the main prison in city of Ardakan, identifying him by his initials A.D.
Two more prisoners were hanged on the same day in the main prison in the city of Shiraz (southern Iran). The state-run media reporting the executions did not identify the two victims.
Since Hassan Rouhani has become the president of the clerical regime, at least 1,200 people, including political prisoners, have been executed in Iran.
