Iran: Political prisoners express concern about Ayatollah Kazemeini Boroujerdi’s condition

A group of political prisoners in Iran have expressed concern about the condition of imprisoned Ayatollah Kazemeini Boroujerdi and called for urgent action to end his suffering.
In a joint open letter, 21 political prisoners in Evin Prison in Tehran and Gorhardasht Prison in Karaj called for the attention of human rights organizations to Mr. Boroujerdi’s condition.
The political prisoners said Mr. Boroujerdi, 57, has spent more than 3,000 days in prison being denied the right to have access to a lawyer and has spent 400 days in solitary confinement.
“He is suffering from various illnesses such as high blood pressure, diabetes and kidney and heart problems,” the letter said.
The prisoners called on all human rights organizations to take urgent action to end the suffering of this prisoner of conscience.
