Road & construction workers hold protest gathering in Tehran

A group of workers of the Stratif Road & Construction Company in Tehran rallied on Saturday, May 24th, outside the company’s central office protesting not receiving their paychecks for the past 6 months.
The Stratif Road & Construction Co. is involved in projects buildings dams and road construction between Iran and Iraq, and is backed by the Revolutionary Guards.

Bakeries on strike in Iranian city of Lordegan

Some of the bakeries of theIran ian city of Lordegan in Chahar Mahal & Bakhtiari Province protested increasing prices of various goods such as flour and bread, staging a strike on Sunday, May 25th and closing their bakeries.

3,000 storeowners on strike in Tehran’s metal bazaar
Nearly 3,000 storeowners went on strike on Monday, May 26th, in Shad Abad bazaar west of Tehran, closing their stores and protesting the regime’s tax extortions.
Metal storeowners said the regime is plundering their pockets and we will not give in and will continue our strikes until our demands are fulfilled.

Protesting metal bazaar workers SW of Tehran march towards regime governor office

Metal bazaar workers in city of ‘Sove’ (southwest of Tehran) continued their strike and after receiving no response from the authorities, they decided to march towards the city governor office.
Following this decision around 400 striking workers continued their demonstration despite efforts by the regime’s police to disperse the crowd.
The regime authorities are refusing to pay the workers’ paychecks that have been delayed for the past 7 months, raising serious anger amongst the workers.
Workers of the Safa pipe factory threatened to go on strike if their delayed paychecks are not provided until Tuesday.
The Open Labor Union of Iran said taking the workers’ paychecks “hostage” is a flagrant theft and a violation of the rights of the workers and their families. This entity completely supported the workers’ demands.
